Blending various musical genres to create their own sonic world, Mazarin has been in constant evolution since the beginning of their existence in 2016, with several changes and additions of members. The band, formed in Lisbon with roots in the of south Portugal, now consists of Vicente

Booth (guitar), Léo Vrillaud (keyboards/synths), João Spencer (bass), Francisco Bettencourt (alto sax/flute), and João Romão (drums).

After the release of their debut EP in 2018, which combined jazz forms with contemporary urban influences, the group began to explore new languages in their next two releases (both under Monster Jinx label).

In 2024, their first album, Pendular, released by Rui Miguel Abreu's newly formed Now Jazz Agora label, adds references to electronic music and rhythms from funaná to afrobeat to the sounds explored until then. Featuring special appearances by Rodrigo Brandão, Sara Badalo, SOLUNA, Gil Dionísio, and João Frade, Pendular is included in the album of the year lists of publications such as Blitz and Rimas e Batidas.
